Our Social Responsibility Projects

 

          In addition to the activities organised by EGESEM, it supports social responsibility projects in cooperation with important national and international institutions and non-governmental organisations.

-“Geleceğimiz için Geleceğin Kadınlarına Sahip Çıkıyoruz” - 2009

         EGESEM participated in this project, which was carried out by the "Türk Üniversiteli Kadınlar Derneği" and supported by IZ-KA in 2009.

-“Menderes Gençlik Merkezi” - 2009

         In 2009, Izmir Atatürk High School organised trainings on "Speed Reading with Comprehension", "Communication Skills", "Effective and Eloquent Speaking" and "Urban Culture, Urban Awareness and Being Young in Izmir" in 5 different high schools.The aim of the project was to enable students studying in schools located in districts of Izmir province with different income and socio-cultural structures and with intensive migration from different regions of Turkey to meet their peers and contribute to equal opportunities and personal development with students living in central districts. The project reached 300 pupils from 5 schools.

 - “İlköğretim Okulları Deniz Temizliği Eğitim Programı “ - 2011

 

          Organised in 2011 by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and Izmir Branch of Deniz Temiz Derneği, this project is supported by Izmir Chamber of Shipping. In this social responsibility project prepared for primary schools, volunteer students from Ege University Continuing Education Centre (EGESEM) took part in the organisation and training of the project. In 51 primary schools in the province of Izmir and surrounding districts, topics such as marine and environmental pollution, disappearing fish species, the damage of marine pollution to the world, people and creatures in the sea were presented to students in different classes with cartoons, graphics and animations.
 

 -  “Geleceğimiz Erimesin” - 2009-2011

          This project, which was jointly implemented by Marine Clean Association / TURMEPA and Turkish Foundation for Combating Erosion, Reforestation and Protection of Natural Habitats - TEMA against Global Warming and Climate Change, was carried out by the trainers assigned as a result of the training activities conducted at EGESEM, in cooperation with Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, in primary schools in Izmir province and surrounding districts.

- Denizci Millet Denizci Ülke” - 2011

           In 2011-2012, the content of social responsibility activities related to the cleanliness of the sea has been expanded and the level of students has also been raised. The "Seafaring Nation, Seafaring Country" project, led by TURMEPA and the Chamber of Shipping, is one of the projects prepared within this framework.  In the "Seafaring Nation, Seafaring Country" project, which includes all students from grade 1 to 12, besides global warming and marine pollution, environmental pollution, Turkish maritime history, naval wars and short life stories of important captains have been mentioned and taught to students for general cultural purposes. EGESEM has tried to contribute to the project by training student volunteers and supporting teachers. Since 2009, 10400 students in 130 schools have been trained by EGESEM with the support of student volunteers in social responsibility projects related to the environment and sea cleaning.

·“Aktif Kentlilik Okulu” Projesi- 2012

 

         In 2012, as part of the project implemented by the Konak Municipality, 22 hours of training on Active Urbanism - Citizens' Rights were given by EGESEM to Mukhtars and urban volunteers.

-"Türkiye’de Mesleki ve Teknik Eğitimin Kalitesinin Arttırılması Hibe Programı "-2015

     EGESEM provided training support in the project "Increasing Vocational and Technical Education Capacity in the Field of Renewable Energy Technologies", which was carried out within the framework of the "EU Coordination Department - Human Resources Development Programme Authority" Grant Programme for Improving the Quality of Vocational and Technical Education in Turkey, organised in cooperation with Ege University Rectorate, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, Bornova Municipality.

     In the project, the legal regulations and principles of the biogas, solar thermal, photovoltaic and wind energy sectors, which were studied and reported, formed the basis for course contents/curricula and programmes. For both PLM and VETPRO trainings, 4 curricula and 4 course materials including applications were prepared separately. The PLM training was programmed in such a way that it could later be given at the Continuing Education Centre of Ege University. A total of 148 students from 3 different vocational schools, Seyit Şanlı, Süleyman Demirel and Mimar Sinan, participated in the courses. 

 

 

 

-"Diş Sağlığı Taraması Ve Eğitim Semineri"- 2019

2 times, 70 children were informed about dental health and preliminary screening procedures were carried out.

 

-"Covıd-19 İle Mücadele Eden Sağlık Çalışanları İçin Gönüllü Akademik Proje Yazım Çalıştayı" - 2020

The aim of our project is to write a Tübitak Project by providing professional mentoring support to our healthcare professionals who have academic duties. A total of 4 people participated, and at the end of the training, they had a project proposal ready for application.Depremzede Çocuklarına İngilizce Eğitimi  Projesi - 2020

 

 

-"Depremzede Çocuklarına İngilizce Eğitimi"   - 2020

The aim of the project is to contribute to the development of the English language skills of the children of the families of the earthquake victims of Ege University in a playful way. Through student-oriented English language activities accompanied by dance, games and songs, the project aims to support the normalisation process of our earthquake victims' families and children and to help them forget the difficult days they have been through. 3 courses were organised and a total of 11 children benefited from the project.
